Burgenland (8h)

Only at a few kilometres from Vienna, but yet another world. The province at the east of Austria has a lot to offer.

On Haydn´s traces you will be taken to Rohrau, where the composer was born and then to Eisenstadt to visit his mausoleum at “Bergkirche” and Esterházy Palace, his place of activity. Afterwards we will walk trough the capital town of Burgenland to Haydn´s house.
Furthermore you will discover the Puszta. Embedded in this enchanting natural landscape is the largest steppe lake of Europe with reeded banks and a great diversity of birds: the lake Neusiedl, a biospere reserve.
And the Burgenland is also a country of exellent vines. Between the vineyards lays the romantic town of storks Rust with facilities for lunch with gypsy music.
You can enjoy a vine tasting and /or a boat trip on Neusiedlersee at the austrian-hungarian border on demand.

For musicfans: in Raiding / Burgenland Franz Liszt´s birthplace is located, too, where wonderful concerts are organised.

For this excursion a vehicle is necessary.
